A Forgotten Crisis

Over a year’s course, HuffPost reporters interviewed multiple military wives and girlfriends whom have been abused by their partner. Through these interviews, there was a very clear pattern uncovered. Service members are rarely convicted for their abuse and victims are ignored to the point of suffering devastating consequences.

As Art Director for this series I worked closely with Designer, Chad Wys and Editor, Samantha Storey, to create an interactive landing page for A Forgotten Crisis series. During this process I was able to oversee Chad’s work and use that to create a visually cohesive landing page. Each feature image is displayed within an embedded widget that links to each article within “A Forgotten Crisis” series.

Below you are the final header graphics created by Chad Wys and art directed by me.

The interactive page below uses elements from Chad’s illustrations to create a visually cohesive page. The complimentary textures and fonts further set the tone for this series. This interactive page was built from scratch by myself and later embedded into the HuffPost article.
